i was walking home from campus today, taking in the watered-down gray-scale mountains behind the trees. a few weeks ago they were alive in colors that only the end of summer can unfold. they made my heart beat.
an uneven beat.
today they sent a cool and electrifying calmness through that same heart.
and it was constant.
consistent.
a drawn out melody that i haven't felt since a different land.
{back to a bicycle, gliding through open roads with wonted voices trailing}
an uneven beat.
today they sent a cool and electrifying calmness through that same heart.
and it was constant.
consistent.
a drawn out melody that i haven't felt since a different land.
{back to a bicycle, gliding through open roads with wonted voices trailing}
they danced away with the leaves in the street and my feet kept up with the time in my head drumming louder than the thoughts in my heart.
one breath in.
sing it for the end, for closure, for laying down in the ground the past that wants to change.
